Prime Minister Nawaf Salam welcomed “the ceasefire announcement announced by President Trump,” stressing that it is “a pivotal Lebanese demand that we have sought since the first day of the war, and it was our first goal in the Washington meeting on Tuesday.”
Salam said, “I congratulate all Lebanese on this achievement, and I offer my condolences to the fallen martyrs, and I affirm my solidarity with their families, with the wounded, and with the citizens who were forced to flee from their cities and villages, and I hope that they will be able to return to them as soon as possible.”
He added, "I can also thank all the regional and international efforts that were made to reach this result, especially by the United States of America, France, the European Union countries, and all the Arab brothers, at the forefront of which are the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Arab Republic of Egypt, in addition to the State of Qatar and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan."
